I used to be like that for many years, but also couldn't care less about it nowadays (I use Webroot & it's a bad GUI IMO) and if F-Secure Ultralight delivers the protection when the final release comes around i might buy it even with it's strange & absolutely hideous GUI because i won't be spending any time looking at it! Just think about the many pages in this forum with users who complain about how several of the newer AV's GUI's look like or why there are less & less options in the settings with these newer versions. They just want something easy, safe & no impact on what they use the PC for if possible. "Normal" users would never spend time on something as completely irrelevant as how the GUI looks like as they couldn't care less. I think in general security forum users like us are so very different from "normal" users who might very well find this F-Secure Ultralight an interesting AV as it requires nothing besides installing and if the detection is up there with the rest then why not? Click to expand.I would certainly describe it as light with little system impact, but more importantly it's very early days yet, in fact it's the first public beta & much can change until it's released and yes i have been trying it out since start of the beta & so far it's the opposite of what F-secure normally stands for historically (IME) = an AV with several engines that drags the system to a standstill.
